2 good places to eat and taste chocolate in Paris

PUERTO CACAO

Intérieur du magasin

Few steps from the bustling place d’Aligre – known to be one of the most exotic market of Paris,  Puerto Cacao is a pleasant fair trading “chocolat bar”. The surroundings are probably a major factor, but it is far from being a sophisticated Parisian tearoom. A plain but charming decoration, a shop full of all-kind of chocolate open to tasting : Puerto Cacao is definitely a good place for chocolate lovers. You can also of course sit on the terrace or in the lounge for a testing in detail, and for affordable prices (about 4€ the hot chocolate, 8€ for a menu including cake and fruit juice)

LA CHARLOTTE DE L’ISLE

Devanture du magasin

In the heart of the l’île de la Cité, rue Saint-Louis-en-l’Isle, “la Charlotte de l’Isle” was known to be a tiny gourmet paraise with a surprising decoration… Since September 2012? the owner has changed and the tearoom has expanded. What about the menu, so appreciated since so many time ? To our delight, the “old-style” hot chocolat is still so tasty, and the molten chocolate cake so smooth… Of course, cause you are on the île Saint-Louis, rates are somewhat expensive (from 6€) but you will nevertheless appreciate the location of the tearoom, way off from the centre of the island often crowded with tourists…
