Find your bearings in Paris


You are lost ? You can obviously use your smart phone or a map of Paris. But always remember that inside every metro entrance is a detailed map of the area in which you are. Another trick : you will find detailed maps too on every public toilets.

 

– Parisian metro is indeed pretty old, but works very well ! Know that wherever you are in the city, you are never far from a metro station (there is a station every 500m in Paris).

Schedules : 5.30 a.m to 1.15a.m on week, 5.30 a.m to 2.15 a.m on friday, saturday and sunday. Buses generally run from 7 a.m to 8.30 p.m.

– If you take the metro and you have a smart phone, a map designed to optimize your movement is available from RATP website (check schedules in real time and calculate your route)

Bus network is the best way to discover Paris while moving around the city. However, avoid it during peak-hours (8 a.m-10 a.m / 5 p.m – 7.30 p.m). To find the best lines, read the article.
