Visa and travel formalities in Paris

As the number one tourist destination in the world, Paris welcomes millions of visitors from all over the world every year. The administrative formalities to enter the country differ according to the country of origin. A brief overview of things to know to better prepare your stay.

Foreign visa to France

Other documents may be requested depending on the purpose of your stay. The best thing is to get information from the official authorities when you prepare your trip. A French person traveling to the United States does not need a Visa, but applying for an ESTA remains mandatory. The most important thing is therefore to inquire before the stay to be in good standing when entering the country.

The Court Stay Visa is the most commonly issued visa for tourist trips, business trips or family visits. It is also issued to people wishing to follow short training courses in France, take part in business conferences, or even carry out a remunerated activity for a maximum of 3 months. Finally, a Schengen visa allows you to discover the different European countries without new administrative procedures.

French visa abroad

Although it is not necessary for a French person to apply for a Visa to travel to many foreign countries, certain formalities must nevertheless be carried out before departure. Applying for an ESTA is mandatory before traveling to the United States, the Canada eTA is also mandatory to travel to Canada. A Visa remains necessary for French nationals who wish to travel to magnificent countries such as India, Egypt, Vietnam, Australia, Sri Lanka, Kenya, or even Cambodia.

Concerning the United States, the request for ESTA (electronic travel authorization) can be submitted at any time and concerns all travelers, including minors. A minimum delay of 72 hours before departure is generally recommended.
